Luxembourg is thus sending out a clear signal in Europe for the attractiveness of public transport. As part of this development, CFL services will increasingly be offered online in the future. The finds system is also being fully digitized.<\/p>\n<h2>Public Nova Find search mask<\/h2>\n<p>Passengers can use a simple, accessible search mask on the Luxembourg Railways website. The standardized recording of loss reports in predefined item categories and characteristics optimizes data quality. This increases the probability of a matching hit when the loss report is compared with the found reports.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After creating the loss report, Nova Find checks the match with available lost and found reports. The passenger is shown the best possible matches &#8211; online and in real time,&#8221; Raimund H\u00f6slinger, Sales Manager at RUBICON, explains the sophisticated search technology. &#8220;If there is not yet a matching lost and found report at the time of the loss report, it is further compared with subsequent found reports. If there is then a matching hit, this is automatically communicated to the lost and found employee.&#8221; Nova Find compares messages regardless of the language in which they were written and recognizes both different names for the same item and typos.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Nova Find brings many advantages<\/h2>\n<p>In the Nova Find back office, employees of the central CFL lost and found office manage all lost and found items. As in the public search mask, customized categories and characteristics are available to describe the item. In particular, the progressive found object recording achieves an increase in efficiency in the workflow: The fast pre-entry identifies the found object with a barcode and minimizes the personnel effort.<\/p>\n<p>In a further step, the lost and found report is completed in the central lost and found office. Here, the automatic comparison with the existing loss reports takes place. The owner is notified immediately when a hit is made. This automated, 100% digital communication significantly reduces the efforts in the lost and found office of Luxembourg Railways.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Nova Find back office accompanies a found object throughout its entire lifecycle, even across multiple locations. This is supported by both the extensive warehouse management and the standard processes provided, such as the forwarding of found objects to authorities. The complete documentation of the entire process guarantees the traceability of all steps.<\/p>\n<h2>Start with special challenges<\/h2>\n<p>The new lost property solution was implemented within only 3 months. The importance of digitization was made clear once again by the COVID 19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic, online training sessions were unceremoniously held for lost and found employees to help them get started with the new software. At the beginning of June 2020, the new lost property system finally went live successfully at Luxembourg Railways. Nova Find is operated in RUBICON&#8217;s ISO 27001-certified data center. This means that Luxembourg Railways can be confident that its lost and found software and data are protected from third-party access and are available at all times.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Mobile outlook<\/h2>\n<p>In order to be able to help their customers even faster in the event of a loss, CFL&#8217;s mobile staff will also be using the Nova Find app in the future. This means that finds can be pre-recorded on the train or at the station.
