Nova Find at SBB<\/h3>\n

With Nova Find, SBB’s lost property service has been placed on a long-term, future-proof technological footing, functionally expanded and modernized in terms of design.<\/p>\n

Lost and Found app<\/h2>\n

An app for around 7,000 SBB employees to record finds immediately on the train. The find is provided with a barcode and is fully traceable in the further course. On the way, information about finds can also be given quickly. Search requests are also visible in the app. An easy-to-understand explanatory video was made to train the train crew.<\/p>\n

In addition, the mobile app is used by staff at stations and in the lost and found center for inventory management. Each time an item is placed in storage, it is recorded in the system by means of a barcode scan. With the help of the solution, around 13,000 items are managed at various storage locations.<\/p>\n

Internal system<\/h2>\n

There is a central system for recording and managing found objects by SBB employees and partner companies. Find data from the mobile initial recording can be supplemented as well as loss reports can be created. Based on dynamically configurable characteristics of the found and lost objects, the system automatically determines which loss report corresponds to a just recorded found report – and vice versa.<\/p>\n

In case of a hit, the owner is notified by means of a predefined e-mail, SMS or letter. RUBICON’s Document Partner document template and output management system is used for the creation of personalized documents and the centralized dispatch of letters via the SBB printing line.<\/p>\n

The system is also used for warehouse management (e.g. transfers to other locations, for recycling or destruction). In addition, evaluations can be generated about the warehouse (e.g. number of items or the return rate).<\/p>\n

Public search mask<\/h2>\n

Passengers can create their own loss reports for lost items in a search mask on the SBB website. The loss report is automatically matched with the existing found reports. By means of a connection to the Lost Property Service Switzerland, reports from local lost and found offices are also taken into account.
